Pet Dog Training Instructors (PDTI) Course – April 2012
PDTI was founded in October 2005 to run courses that target Pet/Companion Dog/Behaviour Instructors/Advisors.
Our thanks go to the PDTI team for re-locating the course to Guernsey. We are very privileged as this is the first time the Instructor course has been run outside the PDTI base at Harper Adams University College near Newport.
The PDTI instructors were: Chris Bloomfield – Co-Director, Sue Evans – Co-Director, Islana McLaughlin-Bell, Kim Stolasa and Nicky Jones. The participants were judged by Anthea Lawrence, President of the PDTI.
Co-director, Sue Evans said “trainers need to be sympathetic to the services they are providing to the dog owning public for a lifetime of happiness with well behaved companion dogs”. The course is “an assessment of peoples own instructor skills in order to provide them with a formal qualification and it sets up opportunities for all participants to work together and learn from each other”
IDTC trainer, Val Dowding who gained “Instructor Level” said “the week had been very instructive” and she would be “tweaking things to make her classes more interesting”.
I think all participants would agree that it was a particularly intense week with some steep learning curves. They are to be congratulated for staying the course, let alone gaining the certifications detailed below. Well done and we look forward to seeing you put into action what you have learnt.
