About The IDTC
Our next big event is the Pet Dog Show on Sunday June 26th at Le Friquet Garden Centre. Great afternoon out for dog lovers, open to everyone and all dogs – non-members and members.
Complimentary 10 point health checks will be on offer from Isabelle Vets along with Muscular Health Checks from Guernsey Canine Health Massage.
New draw this year: when you have purchased your class ticket write your name on the back. The tickets will be collected when you go into your class and entered into a draw which will take place at the end of the show, for a prize that has been kindly donated by photographer Katie O’Hanlon – so the more classes you enter the higher your chance of winning a fabulous prize!!

Welcome to the website of the Island Dog Training Club, based in Collings Road, St Peter Port, Guernsey. We are a non-profit making organisation and were first registered with the Kennel Club on April 17th, 1962, although members were meeting and training for some time prior to that. We are fortunate in that our predecessors had the foresight to invest in the future by ensuring that we have our own clubroom specifically for dog training, indoor shows and year round agility.
We offer a wide range of activities for you and your dog – Agility, pet dog classes, Puppy and New Members courses, Summer Camp (tricks and heelwork to music), Obedience competitions, Agility shows, rallies (friendly in-house competitions), Junior handling classes etc. The club has over 21 trainers and assistant trainers, who are very friendly and experienced and have volunteered their time and expertise for the Club’s benefit. Having our own clubroom allows us to have classes almost every night of the week – Check out the Trainers and Classes page.
We show people how to train their dogs, from puppies to older dogs, pedigree or mongrels – they all have potential and are welcome at our Club. Some of our trainers attend refresher courses in the UK to keep up to date with pet dog training techniques and we endeavour to bring trainers over regularly to the Island to run courses for our trainers and members, which means we all benefit and our trainers are able to pass on up-to-date training to help with any minor or even extreme problems you may be having with your pet.
Please feel free to contact us, our details are on the contact page, should you wish to become a member and have fun with your puppy, dog, etc. or if you are interested in finding out more about any of the activities that we offer.
We look forward to welcoming new and past members so as to encourage responsible dog ownership.
